Tip Tuesday-Important Advisory for Teledyne Siras Drone Users

February 27, 2024 · Tip Tuesday

As we continue to explore the skies with the innovative Teledyne Siras Drone by FLIR, we want to ensure your flying experience is both safe and enjoyable. There are some critical considerations regarding the drone’s battery and controller that we urge all users to be aware of:

Controller Charging:

Do Not Charge While in Use: Charging the controller during operation may harm its internal hardware. To maintain the integrity of your controller, please only charge it when not in use. Charging while flying could result in damage and an automatic return-to-home command due to disconnection.

Battery Management:

  • Self-Discharge Notice: The batteries for the Siras Drone have a self-discharge feature. When not in use, they discharge at a rate of 1% per day independently and 3% per day when left inside the powered-off aircraft.
  • Avoid Complete Discharge: Allowing the battery to discharge completely to 0% could irreversibly damage it, rendering the battery unusable.
  • Post-Flight Charging: Always charge your batteries after flying. If necessary, allow them time to cool before charging to ensure their longevity and safety.
  • Your Safety and Satisfaction Are Our Priority We’re committed to providing you with not only advanced technology but also the knowledge to use it responsibly. Adhering to these guidelines will help you to ensure your Teledyne Siras Drone remains a reliable and high-performing tool for your aerial adventures.
