Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate Renewal Amid COVID-19

Does your Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate need renewal, but you are unable to take the exam due to the impacts of COVID-19? The FAA recently published a Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) to give relief to you during this pandemic. This new rule allows you to take an online course that will give you a temporary 6 months of currency on your Remote Pilot Certificate. The online course is the same course manned pilots take for Part 107 certification, and can be found at the FAA Safety Team website HERE.
You will need to create a free account, and then search for the course named “Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft (small UAS) Recurrent.”
If you are interested in reading the details of the special regulation, you can find it at the Federal Register HERE.
